On 18 May 2019, the international coffee scene met at the Alpenbarista on the Zugspitze mountain to witness the very best in barista craftsmanship.
In difficult conditions at an altitude of 2,962 metres, 15 baristi from nine countries battled it out in a fiercely fought contest. The result was an exclusive event with an exciting supporting programme, from Barista TV talks to coffee & food pairings.

Andrea Cremone started working six years ago at Café Tazze Pazze. Opened by his family, it is the first speciality café in Genoa. Together with his brothers, he also owns a plantation called Finca Rio Colorado in Honduras for growing speciality coffee. His experience in competitions, events and the coffee plantation helped him to become a Q Grader and authorized SCA trainer.

Has been working at Drilling in Hamburg, Germany, since December 2018. Drilling is a café, bar and distillery which in future will make a variety of spirits. It all started seven years ago with his apprenticeship at the 25hours Hotel HafenCity, where he received a short introduction on how to use a portafilter. His passion is latte art — above all because he’s also an artist in his free time.
